Today is the deadline for free agents to reject qualifying offers and for teams to add players to the 40 man roster to protect players from the rule 5 draft, report that Steve Cohen will outbid all on Juan Soto and the Mets sign two Minor League Free agents.

Today is the deadline for teams to add players to the 40 Man Roster to protect them from the Rule 5 Draft in December. I stated in my Post on the Mets Rule 5 Draft eligibles, Mets #15 prospect Dominic Hamel and #18 prospect Mike Vasil are the most likely to be protected.

11/18/24 Mets Sign RHP Justin Hagenman to a split contract "Last year in Worcester he appeared in 28 games, 15 starts, 91.2 innings, 4 wins, 6 losses, 4.91 ERA with a 1.320 WHIP, 98 Ks. He throws in the low 90's with a slider, cutter, changeup and sinker. According to Will Sammon of the Athletic on X: "the deal with the Mets is a split contract that'll pay him $850,000/$225,000". He offers another depth arm."
11/18/24 Roster Move: Mets sign Rafael Ortega to a minor league deal "The New York Mets have announced via X/Twitter that they have signed Rafael Ortega to a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training. Rafael split time with Chicago White Sox and their AAA affiliate. In 2023 he played 30 games for the Syracuse Mets and 47 for the NY Mets. In NY he hit 1 HR, 8 RBIs, .219/.341/.272."

Right-hander Justin Jarvis has signed a minor-league deal with the Dodgers, source tells @TheAthletic. Jarvis, a fifth-round pick of the Brewers in 2018, was traded to the Mets for Mark Canha in 2023. He split last season between AA and AAA, working as a starter and reliever.
